The past week in TTRPG land has felt like rummaging through a wizard's satchel every time you think you’ve reached the bottom, something new and slightly magical happens.
There's been chatter across the blogs about encounter pacing and smarter monster tactics (looking at you, The Monsters Know). Meanwhile, indie creators continue to absolutely dominate the release lists with fresh one shots, horror microgames, and new system hacks popping up like mushrooms after rain.
Shadowdark continues to make waves with lightweight rulings and big flavour, perfect timing as people prepare for extra holiday sessions. Sly Flourish's latest advice pieces keep reminding us that simplicity + intent = great stories, and I'm here for it. And naturally, Kickstarter is… well, Kickstartering, with new campaigns summoning everything from dark folklore bestiaries to RPGs about cosmic librarians
It’s a good week to be a gamer.
It’s an even better week to be a GM.
And it’s an excellent week to be writing your own worlds.
The TTRPG space is alive, loud, and full of creative electricity -
just how we like it.
